Have a great weekend! All the 5th grade classes will be taking the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) this year on April 23rd. This assessment will be administered in their homeroom.

The assessment will be administered in an online format and is aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards for Science incorporating the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which were adopted in 2014. It is our hope that parents and teachers will have ample opportunity for discussion and that this process will avoid long waiting times and be respectful of your time. We are asking that fifth-grade students refrain from bringing slime to class. The slime is becoming a distraction and has created some messes that have been difficult to clean up. Thank you for your understanding. Parents are reminded that all snacks must be peanut and tree nut free. We are also working to have healthy snacks and are asking students to save cookies, candy, and potato chips for lunch time. Spring Break is here! School will resume on Monday, April 2. I hope everyone has a safe and restful spring break!
Our overnight trip to Atwood was a success. We had a great time bonding as a class and working together on building teamwork skills. We also had a sensory night hike that included a solo hike in the dark. We sang around the campfire and made s'mores. We played a fun game of Predator vs. Prey, even though not many of us survived during the game! It was a great time and I think the students really enjoyed themselves! Here are some updates and reminders for next few weeks:
