Winter Break is almost here! A few things to keep in mind before next week.
School will resume on January 9, 2017. Just a reminder...Thanksgiving is next week! We have school on Monday & Tuesday only.
Writing Update: In Class Essay: On Tuesday, students will answer the question: "Is the American Jury System Still a Good Idea?". We have analyzed several documents in class that present evidence for both sides of this topic. Students will need to make a strong claim sentence and support it with two reasons and pieces of evidence from our research packet. Remember to use TAG + C (on the graphic organizer) to help completely answer the question. Their answer must be supported by two pieces of evidences (and sources). Cite sources appropriately and use sentence stems when needed. Today, they received a double sided organizer to help them plan for the essay. They will be working on their plan Monday in class and can use it while completing the essay in class on Tuesday. 1st Quarter Parent Teacher Conferences
